My coworkers got me this for my birthday. I deeply research my gear purchases and can be a difficult person for whom to buy a gift. I went on a mtn bike ride the next day and I'm really, really impressed with this pack. I was able to fit my phone, wallet, a jacket, and extra gloves in the interior. I put some snacks in one bottle holder and a stubby bottle in the other. Everything stayed put (even through PNW chunk), breathed well, and I mostly forgot it was there. I'm happy with the 1L size since I live in a wet climate and would rather carry less water but bring a BeFree and pick up from the many streams as needed. This is perfect for the small amount of things I want to carry. I also love the Xpac material for durability and water resistance. I don't know if I would have been willing to pay full price for 1L of storage space, but seeing as I'm now using it daily for my bike commute, it's already becoming an essential piece of my biking kit. Probably is worth the $
I cannot believe I purchased a hip pack based on an Instagram ad. Normally, I would be embarrassed by this, but it was the only product I’ve seen that was roughly 1L that could also hold the water bottles. Having now used a couple of times, I absolutely love it. My lower back doesn’t get super hot, and the straps are incredibly comfortable. The zip up and out bottle holders are pretty smart. I don’t see me using them often, but I was really impressed with how well it held the water bottles.
Likely, the price tag will feel too high. There are a lot of hip packs or fanny packs for under $50. But, I just don’t think you’re gonna find something with this kind of quality and attention to detail for that price. This is money well spent and I have a hunch this is gonna last a long, long time
